Spread the Word

Help us by spreading the word to as many web sites and individuals as possible. It is vital that we attract visits from links posted on web sites. That is the best way to increase the PJM web site profile and thereby to increase our prominence in search engines' results and, most important of all, it is the best way to attract more support for our cause.

The objective is to have other sites place a link to us on their pages - in a prominent position, if possible. In order that our request is seen as high profile and not just another link, we have developed the PJM web site logo. Here it is, our Fight 4 the PJM logo! Not bad, eh?

(To download the logo, right click it and then click Save Picture As "fight4thepjm_logo.gif".)

We made it ourselves from our Meccano kit and so it’s not as fine as we’d wish, but it didn’t cost anything to make and it gets the message across. Please download this logo and send it to anyone and everyone. In particular, send it to webmasters of other sites to ask them to place a link to us on their Home page or their Links page. Wherever possible, we’ll reciprocate so long as the link from us to them does not conflict with our independence from any commercial or political influence.

When requesting a webmaster to place the logo and/or link on their web site, it is usual to provide some background to our web site. To do that, you may wish to pick some words from the following text which is a tad long ‘as is’.

Re: Fight 4 The PJM Web Site - http://www.fight4thePJM.org.

I write to ask if you would publicise a link from your web site to ours on your Home page or Links page (or whichever page you think appropriate). Here are some background notes about our web site and its objectives which we hope you will find helpful in understanding what we are trying to achieve - please publish these notes with the logo if you wish.

Our web site objectives:

We are veterans fighting for the right to wear a medal. The King and Government of Malaysia have awarded a medal, the Pingat Jasa Malaysia (Malaysian Service Medal) to Commonwealth forces and civilians who served their country to protect its newly won independence against aggression and terrorism. The Queen and head of the Commonwealth has granted Australian and New Zealand citizens the right to wear the medal but has been instructed to withhold that same right from her British citizens. The British Imperial Honours System has been invoked in order to try and justify that shameful decision. Our web site publicises our view that British citizens should be able to wear their medal alongside their Commonwealth friends.

We are a group of veterans who served in Malaya and Borneo between 1957 and 1966 - ageing pensioners who just want to be there on Remembrance Day and ANZAC Day, remembering those who lost their lives in past conflicts, wearing with pride our Malaysian Medal (known as the PJM) beside our Commonwealth friends who are already wearing the award for the same service to Malaysia.

Affiliations:

None - we do not have any sponsors, commercial or political or organisational. We fund the web site ourselves and have no popups, no advertising.

Summary:

Our cause and our web site are attracting fast growing support from around the world including Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, United States, Canada, and Europe. MPs and Peers of the realm support us.

We hope you will agree to place a link to us on your web site so that we may attract more valuable support. If you do, please email us at webmaster@fight4thePJM.org, and we will reciprocate.

Thank you,
