Another corker... and linked to our Rebuttal and Petition.
This what we need.

Barry
Four of the email addresses are bouncing each time I send them so I have sent all of them again and asked the recipient to forward to Ms Beckett

Andy's Citation
I have just sent off a snail mail to Don Touhig with a copy of Andy's Citation attached. Here is the letter.
Dear Mr Touhig
That time is almost upon us when we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their Nation. Many of those who take part in parades up and down the country will be, like me, recipients of the PJM. Many more are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their medal, hoping that it might arrive in time for it to be worn on their parade. But to do so will be discourteous to HM and so they are left on the horns of a dilemma. By every logical and moral criterion they are entitled to wear what they have earned, but the archaic and illogi-cal concepts at work within Whitehall seek to deprive us all of that very fundamental right.
One such Veteran received his PJM yesterday via Royal Mail. Enclosed with it was a Citation which says with far greater eloquence than I could ever hope to muster, just what this award means to the Malaysians. With his permission I enclose a copy of that Citation for your interest and hopefully for distribution amongst your colleagues in government.

Re: New Evidence put before HD Committee

George,
Your letter emphasises just how simple the PJM recomemndation could have been.
Instead, there was 12 months of buttock-clenching, thin-lipped, mean-spirited thinking by a few British civil servants before they came up with a half-baked, confused and rambling excuse for a Minsiterial Statement that was designed, through its conflicting wording, to hide the fact that they had eventually had to re-write a whole set of Rules (two sets, actually), none "long-established", then introduce a new objection anc call it "long-standing", then apply the concoction retrospectively .... all just to deprive British citizens of the right to wear the PJM!
It beggars belief, it really does.
They are a contrived, two-faced, and deceitful bunch who served all that up to an HD Committee ... who unwittingly served it up to the Queen.
Err ... I'll just re-read that last bit ...
And then I'll stand by it!
Barry
