OBE & MBE are awarded for service so if someone was to spend 12 months in Kuching and only Kuching in 1963 and was awarded the OBE for his service and the GSM with North Borneo clasp would that be classed as two medals for the same service and if not why not? Also second that person to the Malay Forces for 90 days then not only would he pick up the Malay Active Service Medal but would also be allowed to wear the PJM.

Also if some was stationed in Brunie and only Brunie from December 1st 1962 for 12 months they would have the GSM with 2 clasps, Brunie and North Borneo is not that double medalling give him the OBE and he has in effect 3 medals for one service. Second him to the Malay Forces for 90 days within that 12 month period still without leaving Brunie he would then pick up a 4th Medal (Malay Active Service Medal).
