Post Court Decisions.
At the Court of Session (the High Court) in Edinburgh on Friday, 26th. May, 2006, a leading member of the Scottish Socialist Party was jailed for flouting a court order.
SSP Tommy Sheridan an MSP, is suing the News of the World over articles written about his private life and Alan McCombes of the SSP's executive committee refused to hand over minutes of SSP meetings which the News of the World want handed over as they are key discussions between Mr. Sheridan and his party which the newspaper want to help bolster their case.
Alan Combes was jailed for failing to hand over the minutes of the meetings as ordered by the court and the judge stated 'it is quite clear that you have flouted an order of the court and no-one is entitled to do that'. The judge also granted a warrant for messengers at arms to search for and seize the minutes of key meetings of the SSP.

Now, dear reader, you may well be asking yourself 'what has this got to do with the fight4thepjm? Well let me explain - The HD Committee state they operate in secret and answer to no-one but Her Majesty the Queen. No they don't. A court in Scotland has ordered a political party to hand over minutes of meetings so we now have a 'stated case' and although English and Scottish Law are different there is every reason for believing that the Crown Court would have to issue an order, if obtained, to the HD Committee to hand over minutes of committee meetings to show just what recommendations which were made in regard to the acceptance and wearing of the PJM. As the Scottish judge said 'no-one is entitled to do that' - disobey the court.

Just more info for the future.

Some interesting news there Andy, perhaps I ought to go public with this then from The Cabinet Office, I asked The CO for the advice given by Admiral Wilkinson and his HD colleagues advising Her Majesty The Queen on the non wearing rule of the PJM as to who recommended this rule and why.

I asked for the info under The Freedom of Information Act, at first I was informed that costs would be involved when I had an initial reply but I retorted by saying that I wasn't paying for anything as I didn't make up the rules. This is the reply I had from those who make and can apparently bend their own rules. I did suggest in a reply that they were probably protecting the guilty.

I wonder whether anyone from the HD Committee did advise the Queen to reject the wearing issue? Anyone with connections to the media?

They now say that Her Majesty the Queen made the non-wearing rule by signing recommendations from the HD Committee but I still have that strange feeling from Ian Pearson's Written Statement that Her Majesty signed recommendations exempting the PJM from the two rules which would allow it to be accepted and worn, and the bit about it, however, not being worn formally, was added by someone in a devious and illegal attempt to discriminate against British Citizens.
Why were they, and still are devious and secretive about this and why, if Her Majesty said we could not wear it are they saying they are not going to police it and it is up to the individual whether they wear it or not. They have even said that a British subject with dual nationality could wear it whilst in Australia.
I note the letter is signed by our old friend Eleri Pengelly.
I am no lawyer but if a court can demand the production of minutes of meetings of a political party and put someone in jail for failing to produce and instruct messengers at arm to execute search warrants in Scotland, then I do not see why a High Court in England would refuse a similar request on a non-political, unelected quango.

I need someone with a national newspaper connection to follow this one up. I have replied to Ms Pengelly, I shall leave this for the statutory 20 working days to see if she has the decency to reply to me, if she does not I will write again, failing a reply then I shall take the matter up with the Parliamentary Ombudsman via my MP Sir Michael Lord. I WILL make these people answerable to JOE PUBLIC

By NOT giving details of the content of discussion between the HD Committee and The Queen they have something to hide.

Post FOI Act
Denis Brennan informed me during a telephone conversation when I asked do the minutes come under section two of the offical serects act he said no but are exempt under the FOI Act.

So how do you get round that.

Now he did promice me last week to send me a list of what was discussed so watch this space. If he keeps his word I should have them by June 3rd ?

A friend of mine and a fellow PJMer has posted this on my forum today I have Denis Williams permission to re-publish it here

Gist of my letter to Eleri Pengelly.

Reference to your letter to John Cooper. Ref FO1241996.

I write today for two reasons.

1. To say that I completely endorse the comments of my friend and ex-service colleague Mr John Cooper, regarding your committees' decision over the PJM medal.

2. To show my wholehearted support for the thousands of ex-servicement who are fighting against this puerile decision, which you have tha gall to say is the wish of Her Majesty The Queen.

There is a strong military tradition in my family, started by my Grandfather, RSM A Williams MM, who served in the WAR to End all Wars, another political delusion.

I served in the Royal Air force, with pride, for seven years, three of which were spent in Malaya. Both my son and daughter served their country with eaqual pride, one for eight years in the R.A.F. the other for twenty three years in the Army: retiring with the same rank as his Grandfather.

I mention these facts so that you will recognise the depth of feeling that motivates me in supporting this battle to wear the PJM and why I and thousands like me will not go away.

I feel ashamed of, the Queens representatives, in the way that you have insulted the King of Malaysia and I am angry at the way you have potentially alienated thousands of ex-servicemen, by treating us less than equal to our commonwealth cousins.

My colleague suggested that you may have in trouble sleeping. I wouldn't know about that, but I believe that a conscience is required to suffer that sort of guilt.

You may not read this letter to its conclusion, but can rest assured that thousands of people worldwide will, when I post it on the Internet.

John started this particular ball rolling. How many more of us can run with it?

Great letter to Elleri from D. Williams I wrote to her some time ago, I was a bit sarcastic and she has ignored me since.
I am convinced within myself that Her Majesty the Queen did not sign recommendations saying we could not wear the PJM and that all the deceit and lies are due to them hiding something in connection with this decision. They have formed a circle to protect themselves but should look round and see the power of the people.

Andy

I can't see a way round the FoI or rather getting to find out who recommended what, the media have their ways and means but I have no actual investigative journalist contact.

They are a lying load of turds.
