My Grandfather told me this little annecdote:

A soldier serving alongside Adolf Hitler during the first world war, commented, that it was hailing. Adolph Hitler declared that it was not hail but in fact snow. The rattle of the inclement weather could be heard all around them, in the continuous stuccato of sound.

It was pointed out to Adolph, that snow does not make a sound when it falls. All of the comrades in the trenches laughed at him and shouted...Its Hail Hitler.
No wonder he became neurotic.
