THAT IS THE CLOSING STATEMENT,TO THE REJECTION OF THE PJM AS FOUND ON THE VETERANS AGENCY WEBSITE. PRIOR TO THE BRILLIANT DISCOVERY IN THE LONDON GAZETTE OF 1968.WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT FOR THAT FRAGILE FREEDOM'DEMOCRACY',TO BE SEEN TO BE EXERCISED,
SEEN AND HEARD ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE OF COMMONS,BY THE ELECTORATE THAT PUT OUR M.P.s THERE AND JUST AS EASY,CAN REMOVE THEM,INSTEAD OF OUR 'NO APPEAL 'DECISION ,MADE ON OUR BEHALF BY ,FOSSILS FROM A BYGONE AGE,AND WHAT A CHANCE FOR OUR ALLEGED P.M. IN WAITING TO SHOW HIS CREDENTIALS,AS INSTIGATOR OF VETERANS DAY,IN THIS THE YEAR OF 25 th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FALKLANDS ISLAND WAR,AND 50th OF MALAYSIA'S INDEPENDANCE,GUARANTEED,BY US LOT 'ERE,TO SHOW WITH DEEDS NOT RHETORIC,A GRATITUDE TO OUR SERVICE PEOPLE FOR PAST ,AND PRESENT CONFLICT, PEOPLE WHO HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED ,IN THE SERVICE OF THE CROWN ,AT THE DEMAND OF POLITICIANS.ANY RESPONSE

Pete....if only Mr Blair (or his 'heir apparent') would demonstrate that he possesses HALF of your insightful appreciation of the problem and of the solution thereto...this privilege induced, anal retentive fiasco could swiftly be laid to rest....until that day dawns, we 'soldier on'.

Pete - I think you put that very succinctly - anybody in Whitehall or anywhere, would have grave difficulty finding anything wrong whatsoever in what you have said. Tony

HMS Loch Fada (K390)
Mike,
I think Loch Fada may have served on the Loch class frigate of that name in the confrontation. Maybe he can tell us if that is so.
'HMS Loch Fada (K390) was the lead ship of the Loch class of frigates of the Royal Navy, pennant number K390 and named after Loch Fada in Scotland.
She was launched on 14 December 1943 at Clydebank in Scotland and commissioned in April 1944. She was attached to Captain Johnny Walker's 2nd Escort Group which was detailed to guard the Western Approaches of the British Isles. She was involved in the sinking of the U-boats U-327 and U-1018 using depth charges on 27 February 1945 near Penzance, Cornwall.
After the war, from 1946 onwards she was attached to the Londonderry Flotilla until she went for refitting at Portsmouth in 1953. Thereafter she operated in the Persian Gulf and in 1955 took Archbishop Makarios into exile from Cyprus to the Seychelles. After a period of fishery protection during the first Cod War between Great Britain and Iceland she served in the Far East and was involved in the Indonesian Confrontation. She was used as a testbed in the development of Sea Wolf surface to air missiles in 1969 and finally scrapped in 1970.'

HMS LOCH FADA
HI GUYS.THANKS FOR THE INFO,BUT I WAS REFERING TO THE R.N FRIGATE OF THAT NAME,REMEMBER SEEING IT IN STORES BASIN SINGA'S IN 60's,AS POINTED OUT THEY WERE WARTIME CONSTRUCTION,THEIR MAIN ENGINES BEING STEAM RECIPROCATING! STILL PLODDING ON IN THE 60'S WHEN THE MAJORITY OF WHAT WAS A FLEET WAS STEAM TURBINE.I SERVED IN HMS BELFAST FOR A YEAR OR SO ,AND GOT DETAILED FOR TOWING CREW OF ONE GOING FOR SCRAP AT BLYTH,7 OF US AS CREW,HAD TO WRECK SHIP FROM BOW TO STERN ,TRUCK TO KEEL,(ORDERED TO!),SO I HAD THE DISTINCTION OF KEEPING THE LAST MIDDLE WATCH (MIDNIGHT TILL 0400)ALONE ON BRIDGE OF HMS LOCH KILLISPORT,AND ONE OF MY TROPHIES IS A SMALL MAHOGANY INSTRUMENT BOX FROM HER,RESCUED FROM THE OPS ROOM ,AFTER I STIRRED THE RADAR SCREENS WITH A PICK AXE HANDLE,WE LITERALLY 'CAMPED OUT' IN WARDROOM,NO SHIPS SERVICES ACTIVE,A FEW BUCKETS OF WATER,AND TORCHES ,TINNED GRUB AND A PRIMUS STOVE,GREAT TO BE A PIRATE! OH YES I REMEMBER THE LOCH BOATS :

Well, that says it all. Consider if you will, a truculent child, who has lost their arguement. They are morose and silent, mainly because they realise the futility of further diatribe denegrating to meaningless drivel on their part.
May I coin a new word for this action...Coneyism...childlike petulence.
Yours with no further comment to make
Arthur
