Your Majesty,
If it please your Majesty, I beg to report the disaterous circumstances of the Pingat Jasa Malaysia Medal decisions, and the wholly inappropriate, Honours and Decorations Committee's advice to your Majesty, regarding the receiving, but not for wear on formal occasions, of this award.
Firstly, one must look into the reasons why this Committee would choose to embarrass your Majesty, by placing you in such an invideous position. Furthermore, why would this Committee want to mislead it's own Monarch?
There is not a shred of real evidence to support the Honours and Decorations Committee's advice to you ma'am, whilst on the other hand, the Committee of the fight4the pjm, has presented to yourself and to Parliament, a lucid and carefully researched and factual rebuttal to the ministerial statement.
Those Members of Parliament, who at first, totally rejected our arguement, have now had the opportunity to read and digest the rebuttal, and are incensed at the fact that they had been hoodwinked. In the light of that, Mr Don Touhig MP and Mr Mark Stevens MP have presented early day motions to the House, and it has now been signed by more than fifty percent of the members at this time. The number of signatures grows every day.
Those members who are unable to sign these EDM's, due to their particular portfolios, have agreed in principal to speak to those concerned, regarding the flawed decision. It is very regretable that the Civil Servants involved in this scandal are beyond our reach, as is their real agenda.
We are left with a plethora of misinformation and buck passing, to avoid culpability. This is an unsavoury situation, tending to bring the Monarchy into serious disrepute. We as loyal subjects, cannot allow that to happen.
As a question of morality, most of those who served in Malaya and Borneo were conscripted. They had no choice. As a matter of logic, one has to pose the question:-
If conscripted into the military and sent to another country to fight their war for them; rewarding very few of them with a medal for their arduous duties; why then, deny them a medal and it's unrestricted wear to those who served loyally and with gallantry for not one country, but two, without any reward?
We left 519 dead service personnel back in the graveyards of Malaya. There are people missing, who have no grave. They were all loyal subjects of your Majesty, who died an undignified death. Are we going to ignore them, pretend it all never happened?
Your Majesty has it in your power to at least grant unrestricted wear to the Veterans and the bereaved families of those who never returned. Allow them, at least that one dignity, in their death, otherwise their sacrifice will have been for nothing. That will be to this country's everlasting shame. One thing is for sure, ma'am, nothing is worth a guilty national pride.
I remain, your majesty's most humble and obedient servant.
