To: Mark Tami MP (mailto:tamim@parliament.uk)

Dear Mr Tami,

A brief email to say thank you for your support for 35,000 British veterans who are seeking the right to wear the PJM.

Not only have you signed both Don Touhig's and Michael Mates's EDMs, you have taken the trouble to write about our case on your web site.

You may like to know that this morning I have received messages telling me that your support and your web site have been seen in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, Spain, Italy, France, Argentina, Finland, Vietnam and, I have no doubt, many other countries who have not yet written to me (but I think they will .... we have support in 30 countries).

Men and women from around the world are indebted to you - ordinary people who have been denied an honour while the ex-Honours Secretary involved in that discredited decision and Ministerial Statement has just been awarded an OBE (and a wearable one to boot!). That's not sour grapes - I'm delighted for anyone who earns an award. But that particular award does not rest easy with me while men and women who put their lives on the line are denied an honour that their Commonwealth ex-comrades in arms have been given by The Queen.

And it would not cost this country anything to allow ageing veterans a little bit of honour and joy ... Malaysia is paying the costs in order to acknowledge what those veterans did to protect their independence.

The right to wear the PJM is a just case and your support will one day be vindicated.

Thank you again,

Barry

I'm glad to see that you mentioned the operative word 'earned'.
Some people earn their medals, and as we all know.... some don't.

As a matter of interest, can we put PJM after our names. I don't need it personally, I've got enough letters after my name already, in fact, there are more letters after my name than in it.

Yours Aye

Arthur

Short but enough....

Greetings to you from down-under,

I congratulate you for the support for the wearing of the PJM by UK citizens, as displayed on your web site.

Arthur,
You mention letters after your name, I have if I wanted to MECA, AMLACA, AMABSSC but they mean bugger-all and I only ever used them once with one company I worked for and as I have said they mean bugger-all, now PJM does mean something and I would be proud to put those letters after my name. I earned the PJM to be honest I didn't earn the others.

Thanks, Laurie.

Your 'thank you' will mean a lot coming from Malaysia.

Barry
