In just 24 hours the number of signatures has risen to 34 - an increase of 24!

That is very good news bearing in mind MPs have other duties during the day (e.g. my MP Richard Benyon was on Home Affairs matters amd so has not yet signed up). Let's see what happens next week when MPs return to Parliament.

This is interesting, Roy. His name is not on the list because of the time of day the computerised list is updated from the original. So we shall have more than 34 as of midnight on the 30 November ... just over a day after The Don tabled his EDM!

Four more MPs whose names are not yet listed sent me an email yesterday saying they will sign up: Andrew Tyrie, Andrew Miller, Michael Weir and Brian Donohoe. Yesterday I emailed all 658 MPs and received many replies - all positive. Our thanks to them for their support.

They, Roy's, and others, will bring the total to 40 ... and we haven't yet started the lobbying in earnest!

I think The Don's EDM has hit a nerve in the Commons - he has attracted cross-party support and that will develop as the list grows.

Barry, a phenominal result in the first 24 hours and lets hope it continues! The number is right up there with world catching titled EDM's so it has obviously struck a cord. Thanks to all out there who have become pretty good at this lobbying lark over the months, people power is power to the people!!!

I have sent a thanks to Don Toughig & Mark Harper also asked my MP to sign.

Have sent my e-mails to both Don Touhig and Mark Harper thanking them for their support with a little note stating:- "I have also sent an e-mail to my MP, Mrs Nadine Dorries, (Con) Mid Bedfordshire asking for her support and for her to sign this EDM. (Till now, I have only received negative support from her on this subject)".
May be they will give her a little push, in the right direction of course.
