Post Lest We Forget 2008
I took a stroll through our park in Ipswich today, the morn was cold, the sun was bright, the leaves were down and some were brown

But this monument was head and shoulders above everyone, lest we forget

And I was in a warmer place = Tesco's on the Poppy Appeal stand.
I was both amazed and pleased at the young ones (ages from about 6 up to 12) who knew about the appeal and what it is in aid of.
With young-uns like that we have should have no fears of future generations ever forgetting those who have fallen in all wars.

LEST WE FORGET

Phredd (In Arduis Fidelis).

I was at Duxford yesterday along with some 10000 others, the guy in the next vehicle to me left his car at the same time as myself, he was sporting a GSM Saudi & Malaysia medal and I asked him had he applied for his PJM or if he was entitled to one. He had it in his pocket, presented to him in Stamford, I asked him why he wasn't wearing it, his reply:

Like all Servicemen we obey our orders

Whilst I agreed with his sentiments, I then explained to this ex RAF Policeman why we were campaigning for a reversal of Government attitudes, it really didn't take much more than five minutes for the medal to be taken out of its presentation box and pinned on his left breast !

I also noted on The Whitehall Cenotaph March Past dozens and dozens of PJMs on parade and of course those old soldiers of The Chelsea Pensioners Brigade was at the forefront............

Great stuff, Smudger and John.

Soon we'll publish some info that unerlines why you were right to do so, both constitutionally and legally.

All the best - and thanks for your ongoing support.

Barry
