Having read every single posting since the inauguration of this wonderful and informative website of ours that....The problem is....That...Ministers and Suits can't seem to get to grips with the fact that although we all served in Malaya, Borneo, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei. etc....As Foot Soldiers...Cannon Fodder...We are all intelligent people, whom after leaving the Service of our Queen and Country, went on to persue other chosen careers, which include, Solicitors Accountants, Local Government, Doctors, Lawyers (This includes Lower Deck). We also set up our own Businesses, and many other relevent Occupations and Careers....In other words we are no longer Foot Soldiers...Cannon Fodder, waiting the bidding of our Government, (unlike our young Solders Sailors and Airmen of today), but Intelligent People who can see through every snide little remark and offering that Whitehall throw's at us, when will they learn that we are equal and in most cases better and more qualified than they are.....they used to be able to "Fool some of the People, some of the Time...But now they Can Not Fool Any Of Us At Any Time...
Regards
Terry.......

Yes, Terry. And as we approach the end of this stage of the campaign, it's interesting to reflect ...

With the power of the Internet this web site has brought together a powerful and informed lobby of people from all arms of the Armed Forces, civilians, and police.

75,000 people have visited this site which only started in mid-February.

400 people visit us each day.

7,000 messages have been posted on all sections of the Forums.

1,300 people have signed up to support us.

The Fight4thePJM Team has received over 6,000 email messages, letters and telephone calls.

The Fight4thePJM has attracted support from men and women in 30 countries on 5 continents.

It is truly staggering.

And it's all down to the supporters. People like you. People who have taken some time out of their lives to support this just cause.

That support will never be forgotten and this campaign will not end until we have achieved our very simple aim - the Queen's approval for British Malaya-Borneo veterans to wear the Pingat Jasa Malaysia along with their Commonwealth ex-comrades in arms who already have that approval.

And so what we hope is a final call to arms ... we have one month in which to underline the merits of our case ... supporters ... please continue to send those emails and letters to those who can influence the decision that is about to be made. Need help doing that? Email supporters@fight4thepjm.org.

Thank you.

Fight4thePJM Team

You have hit the nail on the head Terry.

Your comments on how far we have come, ring true. We are far better educated and have more knowledge and experience than they do. In that, I mean all of us.

We certainly have more honour than them, but they will rationalise their position by saying that we are being damned awkward, never once accepting the fact that they have screwed up to the nth degree see poem ref Charge of the PJM Brigade.

Hopefully we can all look forward to the day, in the very near future, I might add, when the H and D Committee echo your words - I submit - you can wear unrestricted.

The enemy, in our theatre of operations had more honour than this lot have demonstrated.

your aye

Arthur

Barry's words are awe inspiring stuff and his leadership has been an example to us all. Once this is done and we get our rights what next? We have seen just what we can do together.

It would be a shame to just disappear from the scene, we should campaign for other service issues to support those young men and women who have followed in the path of honour and serve their country bravely across the world. I saw the example of a young lady yesterday who has taken on the government to get safety measures fitted to the C130 fleet after the tragic death of her brother and his comrades in Iraq, I was humbled.

I nominate Barry Fleming as the person to sort out the Civil Service once we have got this lot of epaulettes and ostrich feathers out of the way, anyone wishing to second that please say AYE! Shocked

JohnI, I agree with those sentiments about supporting our Armed Forces.

My focus is on the PJM.

If we get a result that enables British men and women to have formal permission to wear their Malaysian medal, then I shall pack my bags and go home. Job done.

If we do not get a result, job not done. I shall carry on with the fight because I know that one day we shall win.

I have no other agenda. None.

Barry

PS Please note I said 'Job done' not 'Mission accomplished' because I, for one, am not 'on a mission'. I am not a zealot. I don't hit the sack thinking 'PJM' and I don't wake up thinking 'PJM'. Nor, in the interlude, do I dream 'PJM'. But I do spend many waking hours beavering away at the 'PJM'. I simply want to try and help out in a campaign to rectify a wrong - along with hundreds of other supporters, you being one of the most stalwart.

Thank you for your vote of confidence, John, but please see post immediately above.

I'm looking forward to demob!

Unless, of course, we get a rejection slip ...
