Post Re: The Accumulated Campaign Service (Double/Triple) Medal
Here is a letter written by a holder of the Accumulated Campaign Service Medal.

He supports our view that he has been double-medalled.

And we support his entitlement to this i well-earned medal ... we only refer to it because we want the suits to be even-handed when trying to say that the PJM is a double medal (it is not) and the ACSM is not (which it is).

Here is John's letter that he has given permission for me to publish:

However as John has rightly pointed out the ACSM is a doublemedal to the GSM for one single campaign.
36 months compared 30 days for two medals is no different to 90 days to 30 days for two medals.

George, You are right. They have a serious problem with the ACSM vis-a-vis the PJM. They can't it both ways. In fact, they can't have it either way.

Barry

Agreed Barry, but I still believe the best example for allowing a foreign medal doubling a British medal is the criteria used for receiving and *WEARING* the Malta medal in 1992. Here a veteran must have the Africa Star" to qualify is documentary evidence to prove the doublemedaling rule in the PJM Ministerial Statement is double standard hypocrisy.

Indeedy!

And they don't like to be reminded about that medal. It knocks all their spurious claims into a cocked hat.

Like they don't like to be reminded of their history of duplicity. How many Suez veterans died without ever seeing their medal just because for ten years or more the MoD worked day in/day out to hide the fact that they were telling porkies just to deny those men their acknowledgement for their service in Egypt.

And now its our turn to be subjected to myths and folklore and duplicity engineered by civil servants just to deny us a simple right.

But we are going to fight them.
