Very Happy I see from the updated list that Ms Sally Keeble has signed Don Touhig's EDM 365. I've sent a thank you email to her, the tenor of which, I hope, might prompt her into signing Michael Mates EDM 375 as well!

From: "Ernest David Dilley" <david.dilley@tiscali.co.uk>
To: <keebles@parliament.uk>
Subject: PJM EDMs 356 & 375
Date: 09 January 2007 09:06

Dear Ms Keeble,

Thank you so much for signing Don Touhigs EDM 356, which now has to date 137 signatures. Michael Mates supporting EDM 375 now has 61 signatures to date, a total so far of 198 signatures. The support does not include, of course, those MPs who cannot sign because of their appointments in government or front bench occupancy. The overall total for signatures in support of EDMs for 2005 & 2006 is 342 signatures.

Again many thanks for your support,

Yours faithfully,

David Dilley

Evil or Very Mad When I came back from my holiday I checked the forum and came across a message "anyone live in Tim Boswell's constituency. Well I don't, but I have sent him this email today:

Dear Mr Boswell, as I am not a constituent of yours I cannot request your assistance, or, indeed, for you to accept any such request viv-a-vis Parliamentary procedure. However, I would like to tell you that with the exception of Ministers, Frontbenchers, PPAs, etc (a number of whom support our cause in principle) we have now a total of 198 signatures for the above, current, EDMs.

Perhaps, should the subject of the Pangit Jasa Malaysia Service Medal, reach the floor of the House, you might consider supporting our cause - Fight4the PJM Campaign.

Information, particularly in respect of our submissions and rebutals of the case the civil servants involved in matter this used to deny us the "right to wear", can be found on our web site www.Fight4thePJM.org.

Yours Faithfully,

David Dilley
(Resident in Northampton, Northamptonshire)

Very Happy And another one!

Dear Mr Bone,

I am not a constituent of yours (I live in Northampton) and therefore do not qualify for your help and ,of course under parliamentary rules you are unable to take on a case of a non-constituent. However,I wish only to draw you attention to the above EDMs (375 & 356) which are curently well supported (186 signatures) to demand that the caveat "permission to wear will not be given" is changed in favour of circa
35,000 Veterans who fought in the Malay Communist and Indonesian insurrections between 1957 and 1966. We have, that is to say,we campaigners (see Fight4thepmj.org) are complaining largely against the advice senior civil servants are giving to Ministers and MPs making enquiries which we believe we have proven to be based on mis-assumptions, misquoting of regulations and reticence of the Departments involved by eg, leaving out relevant words; "AWARDED BY THE CROWN" which changes the meaning and conditons of that regulation: in this eg,The Pingat Jasa Malaysia was in fact awarded by the King (Agong), the Government and People of Malaysia. I apologise for the length of this email. As I indicated this is purely for information although , naturally I (we) would be grateful for your support.

Yours faithfully,

David Dilley

F A N T A S T I C , David!

You will have seen the latest figures ... over 200 signatures on the two latest EDMs ... in a few weeks .. and Christmas/New Year in between!

With those who I know support us but do not/cannot sign EDMs, I think we have over 200 MPs supporting us now.

Brilliant lobbying.

Barry

I received the following from my MP Ronnie Campbell's secretary.
Dear Bill,

I have checked the Hansard EDM database and Ronnie has not signed EDM 356 or EDM 375. I am sure he will be happy to do so. I will let you know.

Bill, this is another example of B R I L L I A N T lobbying on your part. Ronnie's signature will mean much to the strength of our case.

Thank you for your continuing support.

Barry
