Having a laugh-----HEADLINES!
Just a bit of fun for all, imagine you are the editor of a well known newspaper and you had never heard of the PJM campaign, but a Malaysian Veteran tries to tell the editor the story so far of how funny things turn out.
You suggest to the editor this story
35000 Malayasian Veterans were offered a medal by the King of Malaysia for freeing his country from insurgents twice within the last 50 years, the King has to, via the UK protocol, get permission from Her Majesty The Queen via the UK Government to RECEIVE and then be permitted to WEAR this medal.
The Government passes on this request to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for The Rt Hon Jack Straw MP to sort out, he passes this on to what is called the Honours & Decorations Committee (completely unelected by any of the public) who deliberate for over a year. The EIGHT of them huddle together, led by an Admiral, and pontificate on the subject.
They come to a decision that the Veterans in Australia and New Zealand will have the permission from HM The Queen to both RECEIVE and WEAR the medal UNRESTRICTED, so far so good, but when it comes to those of UK Citizenship they advise Her Majesty for those residents to RECEIVE the medal but NOT to WEAR it.
Honest this is not a sketch from Monty Pythons Flying Circus, this is for real, the medal awarded is the Pingat Jasa Malaysia.
Now you have told the editor the brief details he needs a headline what would be yours?
A PJM badge to the best entry, mine would be:-
MEDALLING WITH VETERANS

GREAT NEWS, TO HEAR OF A ANOTHER POTENTIAL REVIEW,HOWEVER,BE AWARE OF FALSE DAWNS,AND SPRATS FOR MACKERAL.SOMETIMES THE IDEA IS TO BUILD UP HOPE, TO BRING IT DOWN,SAPS PURPOSE,JUST REMEMBER THIS,AND TO ANY CULT READERSHIP, JUST GET REAL, YOU ARE DEALING WITH THE REAL THING,HERE, WE WON'T GO AWAY, YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO , THERE IS THE EASY WAY AND THE HARD WAY, BUT DO IT YOU WILL, TO OUR SATISFACTION, WHICH IS THAT WORD 'UNRESTRICTED', REPEAT IN CASE YOU BLUSHED, 'UNRESTRICTED' LIKE EVERY ONE ELSE WHO SERVED AND QUALIFIED, GOT IT!

DON'T DONG THE GONG!
Did you read about the group of war veterans attending an outdoor concert in a park in Weston Super Mare recently. A group of yobs were being a nuisance and harrassing them so they took them on and sent them packing. The message is, veterans will not be pushed around and know how to stand up and be counted, so watch out you yobs in the public service.

Some good ones there guys keep them coming we might get asked for a headline one day, but we might wait for the review to be heard before it really starts to get embarrassing for the men in grey suits
