It has come to my notice (newspaper and Malaysian contacts) that there is a very big High Court case in Malaysia involving some 'high flyers' and the company named Metromak who operated tolls on highways. The defence team decided to engaged Cherie Booth QC, the wife of our beloved leader and self-styled Britains First Lady, because of her expertise in such High Court cases. The defence were told that as she is not qualified to practice in Malaysia she could not be on the defence team. On Wednesday, 14th. June, 2006, the defence team appealed this decision to hire Cherie Booth QC in the High Court. She had flown in to Kuala Lumpur the previous day unannounced and created a great flap in regard to her security and protection. Apparently those involved were well miffed that she had not given them time to arrange proper security. Anyway she duly appeared at the High Court Appeal on Wednesday and the Honourable Justice hearing the case promptly removed her from the well of the court and banished her to the public benches stating that she had no right to appear in the court as she was not qualified in Malaysian Law to appear in court there.
