Post Civil service unfit for purpose.
According to think tank Reform the civil service was 'not fit for purpose' at the moment and its deficiencies harmed delivery of policy.

Don't take my word for it read it at BBC NEWS/Politics/Civil service 'unfit for purpose'.

Haven't we been telling them for more than three years now. They cannot even get right a simple matter like the award and wearing of the Pingat Jasa Malaysia and instead of admitting a minor mistake was made they obfuscate and compound their stupid pettiness which makes them the laughing stock of the world.

It looks like someone is now telling them just how bad and petty they are and that the real need for change in attitude and honesty is required to make them 'fit for purpose'.

Personally, I do not see it happening until our elected parliament in the mother of all parliaments can claw back responsibility for our democracy under the rule of law from unelected civil servants who make rules against British private citizens and expect these rules to be complied with.

The point they are making, I think, is that civil servants are not accountable - and should be made accountable (but without politicising their work).

Isn't that exactly the point that Don Touhig was making in his 10 Minute Rule Bill in connection with the PJM when asking for the HD Committee (which consists of the very people who are under question as not being accountable) to be made accountable and unable to hide behind the skirts of their repective Ministers.

Check out these links:

First, a link to teh Reform group who have called for civil servants to be made accountable:

Then these other BBC articles about the need to reform the flawed civil service:

Who orders Helicopters that cannot fly in the rain?
The flawed Civil Servants.

So can we expect a change to the system in the near future?
Answers on a postcard please.

And who is that still don't know when to stop digging?

These same flawed civil servants.

IMO they will never learn to stop digging.

And why is that?

Because they NEVER EVER admit to making a mistake.

Result?

They keep on digging..

And the result of that?

Because of their lack of forethought they are installing very, very weak supports to support their ever deepening hole.

And the result of that?

The hole will collapse.

The collapse has already begun but......

You've guessed it - they're still digging.

Could be that they'll pop up down-under posing as real "Diggers," John. After three years plus of their frantic efforts they should be almost there. Post a watch, old mate.....you'll know what to do with 'em when they surface.
