Post Guard of Honour.
The following was published in the Scottish Daily Express to-day (30-1-0Cool.

It says the Guard of Honour was from the local (Bristol area) Royal British Legion. Well done those veterans you are a credit to your nation. Those in government and government agencies should start to take notice of veterans and veterans issues in this country as they are a formidable voting force who seem to me to be starting to put the Great back into Great Britain.
I for one am very proud of these veterans.

One can only hope that the lady 'pc' concerned ('pc'=Public concience) does not become a victim of 'pc'= political correctness
invoked by 'pc' = pathetic clowns! It is problematical, however, as to whether the lady concerned, as alleged "took the law into her own hands", which is unlawful in these 'pc' days. This begs the question; had she reported her concerns to the police what action, if any, would have been taken against those who alledgely vandalised a war memorial in view of the perceieved responses to public requests for help over the last decade or two, or three, or................? She can certainly count upon my support for her obvious public concern, as I am sure, many of us in addition to that of the local RBL lads.

In the English edition, probably similar to yours, Andy, there is a story about the sort of nation we have become when following a row with neighbours, the result was the death of one person and the arrest of two. In times past (in our days) there have always been the odd words between neighbours, usually amicably resolved, or, rarely, phyiscally); in my view thanks to 'pc', things have, over the years, got totally out of hand!

Congratulations to the Lady and to the RBL Veterans …. hopefully this will start a trend which could show the do-gooder policy makers of Britain that reasonable thinking people have had enough and will not stand for all this PC and kid-glove stuff where destructive kids are allowed to create havoc with impunity.

Give both the lady and the Veteran guard of honour a medal for services to common sense and decency……or would that be considered to be medal proliferation.

Perhaps...just Perhaps, we are getting near to the time when we will start standing up and be counted, enough if enough, and if anybody has the will, it will be us Veterans who are sick and tired of what is happening in "Our Country" today, if as we suspect (Know) the Suits do follow the threads on our Website. Perhaps just Perhaps they should start to worry a little...
Regards
Terry...

When I was a PC (Police Constable as opposed to the other) in Central London we were all gathered together to hear a lecture by an Inspector from complaints about the new tort of failing to provide a service.

The Police were rightly worried about this tort which had been introduced primarily to bring to account those such as the Electricty or Gas Boards or other such organisations which 'provide a service' as they agreed that it is almost impossible to defend. The Police realised that yes, they can be accused of 'providing a service', or not as the case may be, so they employed many officers and spent many hours teaching us PBI all about it. The rub is that if it can be reasonably proven that you have failed to provide a service in any way shape or form that you are employed to so do, you can be taken to the Civil Courts for redress by any member of the public.

Now, if you have reported something once or many more times and the Police have failed to do anything to remedy your complaint you have a case at civil law against the Police for 'failing to provide a service'.

Post Civil Redress.
John,#

I am sure that the woman's lawyer, celebrity lawyer Nick Freeman, dubbed Mr. Loophole, who has given her his services free of charge will be up to all the tricks.

I just think that it is wonderful that elderly veterans took the time to form a guard of honour and show support. Perhaps this may be the start of something bigger throughout our country, with all decent, hard-working people, and us OAP's taking no more lies and deceit from those who say they are running our country and those that are helping them, sorry those (in opposition) who are helping themselves.

We have experienced their unjust treatment of Malaya/Borneo veterans yet David Minibrain just keep quiet whilst Big Broon keeps repeating 'I'll look into it'. Whilst Meg Munn keeps telling us we will get nothing more, oh yeah!!

I'm all for that McD but you will be surprised at just how many lawyers do not know all the tricks, unless they have been taught them, specialise in them or can read!

Post Failing to provide a service
Just a thought, esteemed colleagues, can we take the Government to court for failing tp provide a service:

I put it to you, that, they have been guilty of gross misconduct in public office.

Failed to provide adequate or truthful information regarding the PJM issue.

Misleading Parliament, the House of Lords, and Her Majesty the Queen.

Failed to properly equip our armed forces, in that the weapons and kit, are not fit for purpose.

Failed to provide proper medical facilities for injured service personnel.

Failed to provide adequate accommodation for servicemen/women and their families.

Failed to respond to communications within the specified guidelines.

The list is endless I'm afraid. I sincerely hope that the civil serpents who consider this website as a vade mecume, will realise that they work in an area, where had this been in the commercial world, would be under investigation for corruption and fraud.

But, because they work for Government ... that is not only allowed, but actively encouraged.

My family motto, is NUNQUAM DEDERE - Never Surrender... and we won't on this issue.

Yours Aye

Arthur
