I would like to wish all Civil Servants a Happy Christmas and remember in every Whitehall Nativity Play someone has to play the ASS.
There seems to be a number of candidates for that position this year.

Am looking after my 5 year old grandson tonight while my wife is out at a Christmas party with my daughter. The wee lad came with a note from Polly, his mum, reminding me that tomorrow, the 21st I will have been a married man for 40 years. It had completely slipped my notice cos I have the sort of wife who does not drop hints or even get upset when I make a complete balls-up of significant dates. HOWEVER, it seems that both my daughter and son sorted everything out months ago and "arrangements" were made. I have even been able to ring a lady who knows another lady who owns a flower shop, so.....there will be a very romantic ring of the door bell at a suitable hour on the morrow. SORTED, one might say.... but I am curious to know if I walk alone with my forgetory? The watchword for tonight is...PHEW!

First ...congratulations, Mike, to you and your wife.

As for forgetory ... there are many benefits ...

1. You meet new people every day.

2. You get to hide you own Easter eggs.

Oh yes ...

3. You meet new people every day.

... I've forgotten the others.

Barry

PS I was married 40 years ago ... in Malacca, PJM-land.
