Where have you advertised the PJM issue today?
I've hit the RAF Gan, Maldives discussion board and Guestbook today
I have also put another message on another RAF Gan Discussion Forum (Tony Sirrell)
I have updated two of my own threads on the good news re Dame Vera Lynn
I'm sure there must be readers on these pages that served their time in Malaya/Singapore/Borneo and Brunei between 1957-1966. If you did serve here are you aware that the Queen has authorised the receipt of a medal awarded to 35000 ex Vets via The Malaysian Government but has refused (on advice) for those recipients not to 'officially' wear the PJM Medal
A campaign has been set up to overturn this silly rule (Yes the ANZACs can wear the medal without restriction)today Dame Vera Lynn and many others have given their support to us.
A dedicated Website here gives all the details
http://www.fight4thepjm.org/
Can we rely on your support please? []
SO WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TODAY?

That is a searching question. All too often I cannot answer that question and still feel good about myself!
That is a brilliant rallying call, John. I hope others are inspired by what you're doing and what you're saying.

Teletext
As of 10 minutes ago, today's tally is 23. Given that the message now says "from 1957" and to phone me after 17:00, this is still quite a hit rate. More of these have access to the internet, so I am hoping that we will see an increase in the number of registrations. I must spare a thought for Fred Burden who will be getting an increase in the number of requests for application forms. He has a daunting task to perform.

Yes he does - and we take our terendak off to him.
But so are you, Gerry. As I have said elsewhere on this Forum, I don't know how you cope ith all those enquiries, but I'm glad you are. It's graet for the callers to find out about their award, but it's also great for our campaign be each call to you is a supporter for us.
Thanks for all you are doing. Barry

Yes Gerry, I echo Barrys sentiments, when I first put an appeal on SP Ch4TV I too was inundated with telephone calls, sadly some were just time wasters and just wanted a chat, after that any other appeals had to be conducted by post or email.
I know a lot of us 'old uns' haven't got computers but it is surprising how many have relatives that will enquire on their behalf.

MY BIT
John, I know it is not much but like a wee Scottish terrier I keep nipping away. To-day, I sent the pamphlet to the Lord Lieutenant of our County (The Queen's representative) who is ex-army and very keen on the British Legion and also one to Border TV News Department with compliments slip showing they could contact me if required, and of course I will follow it up with a phone call soon. I am very trying!!

Not much, except that I did write a letter and post it to.....
The UK High Commissioner in Canberra.
I was surprised to find that it is a women.
But I expect that some flunky will answer it.

Memorable Order of Tin Hats
This organisation is for veterans who have active service. I'm not a member, but a comrade on another site is, and at the top of their "command" structure. I emailed him last night, between the 25 phone calls. I've just got his reply and he wishes to quote me at his national committee meeting on the 16th. More publicity.

The new PJM Medal
Name: John Cooper
IP Address: 81.159.43.251
Email: john@cooper286.fsnet.co.uk
Message: I know a lot of you served in Malaysia from 1957-1966, if you did there is a new medal that has been awarded by the Agong of Malaysia in recognition of your services.
This medal is called the Pingat Jasa Malaysia, HM The Queen has approved the fact that we may receive the medal but on (bad) advice has declined 35000 vets from wearing it, the exception is those of ANZAC stock.
A dedicated website has been set up here http://www.fight4thepjm.org/ and a forum here http://www.fight4thepjm.org/forum/ for those that wish to find out more.
We have some very important people in supporting our campaign please come along and register your support too, thank you in anticipation
John Cooper

Fantastic, John.
I'm beavering away on text a PJM 'feature' and so unable to get stuck in, so it's great to read about those who are doing the business.
I'll get back to the trenches at Stand To! Barry

I have recently set up a photo website on Fotopic.net:
http://laurencembean.fotopic.net/
and have now figured out how to display the Fight 4 the PJM logo on it. Have also included a link into this site.
