At 8pm on each if the last three evenings I have stood with hundreds of others at the Menin Gate for the Last Post ceremony.
Tonight I bumped into some Aussies and we 'discussed' the PJM. They fell about laughing at the antics of the 'suits'.
As I reflected on the last two years' fight, it struck me how ludicrous Denis Brennan and his cohorts have made themselves, and the British Honours System, look in the eyes of the world.
The Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing puts it all into perspective.
In the greater scheme of things, those dishonourable dinosaurs of civil servants are utterly insignificant and totally forgettable ... unlike the men whose names are engraved on this stunning Memorial.
