PJM Presentations (Manchester NMBVA)
The Manchester Branch of the NMBVA will be holding the first Presentation Ceremony at the 42 Sigs Regt TA Centre on 02/06/07.
To those who have been notified it is important to remember they must be seated by 1230hrs to allow the Ceremony to begin at 1300hrs.
There will be an interval so the MHC can have a break. There will be light refreshments later. As we expect 150 recipients plus one guest we have been asked by the MHC not to bring children.
The dress code is smart with service tie.
To those who have applied and live in the Area and have not yet been invited then don't despair, there is a good chance you will be invited to the next one.
The MHC have asked us at the Manchester Branch NMBVA if we could bring forward the ceremony to 1100hrs due to the impending Malayasia Week Celebrations.
On behalf of the committee we trust this wont inconvenience the recipients too much.
As an added point of interest we also have the Stockport Cadet Corps of Drums (Bollington RBL) to entertain us after the ceremony.

Report back from Manchester NMBVA medal presentation
180 veterans plus wives were presented with their long awaited PJM.Our hosts were the 42 Sigs Sqdn (TA)at Rusholme on 2/06.07.
A very hot day and the Gods were smiling on us along with two local TV stations, the after ceremony entertainment was a drumming display from the Stockport Cadet Corps of Drums (Bollington RBL) who recieved a standing ovation after a brilliant display.
We were well fed and watered after and having renewed old acquantances we promised to keep in touch via variuos means.
Suffice to say we have been asked to hold two more events of this nature in the near future.
Plans have been drawn up as from today.WATCH THIS SPACE!!

Thank you for this update Smudger...it's gratifying to learn that the 'Fight4' is being recognised as a prime mover in this campaign...and let me add, for the benefit of absolutely everybody... (especially the 'suits' in Whitehall).
...We're not finished with you yet....not by a long shot!

Well Smudger, a man can only do his best...no-one can ask for more than that.
Regardless of whether it 'goes to air' or not, you still qualify for a 'Well done' for giving it (and us!) your best shot, when the opportunity presented itself.

Corps of Drums
Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond their control the Stockport Cadet Corps of Drums (Bollington RBL) are unable to attend the next PJM Presentation Ceremony. We at the Manchester Branch committee send our apologies.Alternatives are being persued.
The resulting search has revealed two pipers will be playing instead.
320 Medal recipients at this ceremony,
The next one is at Norman Road Rusholme and scheduled for Nov 25/07

The soldier's 'Right to complain' has sometimes been described as ' his right' and alternatively as, 'his God-given right'....what an incredible pity that some, apparently, elect to remember it as their ONLY right.
There is only one intelligent method of handling such pathetic, picayune, assertions of aggrievement Smudger....and clearly, you are already aware of the appropriate response.
Such men are certainly not well gifted in recognising the logistical difficulties and financial limitations experienced by their unpaid and unfunded VOLUNTEER hosts.
Well done Stockport TA et al regardless of such petty complaints!
Illegitimi non Carborundum....
