Derek Twig announced today that Gurkhas are to receive the same pension benefits as other British troops. Gurkhas still serving and those who retired since July 1997 will now be allowed to enter the wider armed forces pension scheme.

Well, well - wonder how long that campaign took.

Perhaps those of us, which must be most of us, who comment on this website and who left H.M. Forces prior to 1975 and only served for 12 or 15 years, as in my case might be next in line to be allowed to receive a Pension from the Government after all we did have money taken from our pay for Pension purposes, see our website The Armed Forces Pension Group, we, like the PJM'rs continue the fight....

While those of us who have got UK pensions and live in Commonwealth countries, have our UK pensions frozen. In other words stolen by the same civil serpents of Whitehall and their mates the MPs in Parliament.

Some people who retired twenty years ago are still on the pension that they were given 20 years ago.

On the other hand if a UK pensioner goes to live in Spain or the USA, thye get their full entitlements and the annual cost of living increases.

As we say here in Australia, at least Ned Kelly used to wear a mask when he robbed you. Not so the British Civil Serpents and MPs.

They're just simply, barefaced robbers.
