The EDM's - more signatures from MPs!
It gets better and better and better ...
Update as at 10/01/2007:
MPs continue to sign up to support the PJM.
Don Touhig's EDM 356 now has 141 signatures.
Michael Mates' EDM now has 63 signatures.
That's over 200 signatures in a few weeks! We've just added up the total number of signatures supporting the PJM in 2005/6 ... 348 from 188 individual MPs! Staggering support! And growing support!
Are a handful of civil servants going to continue to maintain that 186 MPs are wrong and a couple of them are right?
Thank you, our elected representatives, for supporting the British veterans that the unelected civil servants continue to snub - and for supporting our just case that those same civil servants continue to disregard.
And we know of several more that have signed but the details have not yet been updated on the Commons web site.
Our campaign has exceeded all expectations - especially those expectations of those Government Departments where a handful of civil servants are even now trying to find a way to say they are the only ones in step.

This is tremendous news, it shows the parliament recess has not stopped MP's from signing the EDM's.

Absolutely,George.
If my postbag is anything to go by, the interest in our case continues to increase at an alarming pace (alarming for the suits ... and happily so for our HQ which is being stretched and tested further every day (but will never go under). The unelected suits must not disregard our elected representatives. If they do, then be it on their heads. The BBC is on our case now - this matter is never going to go away until British Malaya-Borneo veterans get the justice they deserve.

Even more signatures from MPs supporting us
George F wrote:Yes John very powerful indeed.
should this fight 4 the right to officially wear the PJM medal fail now it shows that a quango of 8 non elected members of the HD committee can totally ignore the wishes of 33% of elected MP's who in turn represent 20 million UK citizens. For HMG to ignore these two powerful EDM's would only highlight Tony Blair's government to be out of touch with democracy.

See the latest list of signatures on EDMs! Stunning! Each day more MPs sign up to support our case.

This guy is also a member of this forum but cannot through disability get to see his MP, now that is what I call comradeship! SUITS TAKE NOTE!!!!

There is a saying in the Midlands "To go round the Wrekin" which means to go the long way round or to take your time in doing something.
The suits know how to go round the Wrekin.

Though I already knew for reading it on site, I have just received letter from my Local MP (David Tredinnick) in which he states -
Further to my letter of 19th December this is just to let you know that inview of the strength of feeling expressed to me by constituants that veterans should be allowed to wear the PJM on public occasions, I have now signed Early Day Motion 356

Another labour MP onboard.
Just received this letter from my local MP Bill Olner
Have no scanning facilities so extract of letter is;
Dear Mr Hardy
Thank you for your letter dated 30th January 2007.
I am writing to inform you that i fully support your campaign. British Malaya and Borneo veterans should have the right to wear the Pingat Malaysia given to them for protecting the newly independent Malaysia from aggression. It is fully justified to seek the amendment of the recommendation so that you and other veterans have formal permission to wear your PJM with pride.
I would also like to inform you that i have signed both EDM`s 356 and 375.
I wish you great luck and success in your endeavour.
Yours Sincerely
Bill Olner MP
