Post "Pensions" - IMPORTANT
Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen.
Possibly not the right place to put this, but there again.... As well as this forum, I am also a member of the Armed Forces Pension Group. We are those that left the Armed Forces before 1975 and therefore did not receive a pension from the Government, I only served for 15 years. Anyhow we now have a champion in Parliament "Colin Challen M.P." who has put down and Early Day Motion (EDM 67), which states that ALL ex H.M. Forces should be treated equally and receive a Pension. Just thought that a lot of our PJM'rs Might be in the same boat and might like to contact their M.P's to get them to sign the EDM.
Regards To All
Terry....

Post Keith Frapes has posted us...
Keith Frapes has joined the MoD Oracle Forum as a member and posted our sites addy....hopefully attracting some new members?

This posted here with Keith's permission...

Gentlemen.

There is a website dedicated to fighting for formal permission to wear the PJM. like our cousins in New Zealand and Australia and links to the application form.

I suggest that you pay a visit and join them. It is highly organised and has sent in a host of documentation on behalf of those entitled to recieve this 'Pingat Jasa Malaysia' medal, (PJM) to the Honours and Awards committee asking them to reverse the ridiculous decision.
They, (the committee) stated a decision on the reversal would be taken and published by the end of November 06, but of course it never appeared!

Here is the link to the Fight for the PJM website. http://www.fight4thepjm.org/

Remember, the medal date starts with the independence of Malaysia from the British and ends with the end of the cooling off period as laid out by the Malaysian Government, that being, 31 December 1966.

Post Lobby...Lobby...Lobby!
No doubt all will have noticed that our membership is still growng ? We are now approaching 1700 members of the Association.....and in only a year!

Let me offer a hearty welcome to all those recently joined....and exhort them to participate as much as they can in lobbying....write to your MP.....Write to Her Majesty the Queen.....Write to the Prime Minister....or to the Foreign Minister, Margaret Beckett....tell any and all of the above exactly how you feel about this disgraceful situation which has been foisted upon us.

Write or email Jo Palmer or Julian Clegg of Solent Radio.

All details and addresses are available on this site....and plenty of examples of text that may be copied and modified to suit your own circumstances...

See: http://www.fight4thepjm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1236&highlight=

There is no time like the present....DO IT NOW!
