I found the site most interresting, especially the one about the NAS 848 and their S55s These big black /navy blue machines came into Brooke, and have also dropped in our jungle LZ a number of times. From the text of NAS 848. Quote ' By late 1956 the S 55s were truly past their sell by date .' Un quote. This ties in with my claim, when I say the double helicopter crash happend in late 1956. It appears that the S 55s were simply worne out.
