Barry Paul & Gerry,

Alfa bravo. This is a fantastic piece of journalism. Congrats to the Malaysians

If only we could get some British Journalist to write an article like this in a National newspaper.

Agreed, if this story did appear, and I'm sure it will sooner rather than later, that would have a huge impact in our campaign against the suits in Whitehall.

It looks like we should start a campaign to shame the UK press into doing something for our Vets?

Its long overdue.

Maybe a gentle reminder to the NoW might be appropriate in light of newspaper coverage from Malaysia, they might like to lead on the story. I feel the Daily Express with The Chelsea Pensioners WEARING the medal SHOULD have been taken up by the media, but they missed that opportunity

I have already asked CO or FCO, its on my saved emails somewhere but of course these CS do not want to answer the 'awkward' question only the ones that further enhance their careers.

I had asked if they viewed the wearing of the PJM medal as a great discourtesy to The Queen whilst the three CPs were in uniform, you were there, I'm sure these CPs knew what they were doing, didn't they? There is no one more loyal to Her Majesty than these guys!

Maybe we should also ask the cabinet office what their opinion is of the three Chelsea Pensioners wearing the PJM medal in the uniform of The Queen?

George,

They are intent on denying this medal come what may. But their case is flimsy. So I suspect their perverted sense of integrity will lead them to heave a sigh of relief. They will say to themselves - If they want to wear their trinket (and go against our recommendation "approved by the Queen that it is accepted only on condition that it is not worn") and they aquiesce and are happy "causing the Queen grave discourtesy", then that's just fine by us because it gets them off our backs while questionning their own integrity and loyalty to the Sovereign! And we civil servants have won the battle!!!! Yippeee

Errrr... don't think so!

We'll wear the medal while we continue this fight to have formal permission to do so.

We shall never give up.

And we're going to demonstrate to the world exactly what these civil servants have been up to just to deny British veterans a basic human right ... to be treated the same as other citizens, British and Commonwealth, and not discriminated against by civil servants who have never worn a uniform in their lives.
