Keith Payne the last Australian to be awarded a VC has handed over his medal bar to the Maryborough, Queensland, Military Museum.

The rack hold 23 medals.

The rack was shown on the TV news this evening for a moment. I only picked out the VC and OAM and GSM.

He won his VC in Vietnam.

I had the pleasure of meeting Keith Payne a couple of times when I lived in Mackay. A very sincere and humble man who by his presence generated respect. If the civil serpents in whitehall had one hundreth of his courage then they may go part of the way to being called men with honour.
