Post Whitehall Mandarins- An Australian Perspective
I saw the following ditty in a Cartoon in the Melbourne 'Age' newspaper today which I find captures my feelings about the HD committeee and those civil servants responsible for the PJM decision on not being allowed to wear our medal:

Could I have your
attention please folks
It’s a ripper of a day
A bunch of arseholes
are trying to give us the
bloody rough end of the
pineapple (repeat)
Would you just listen to
those morons
They’re trying to stick it
up us

It is a matter of supreme indifference to me whether the MOD think I am being courteous of discourteous to HM when I wear my medal. As a dual British/ Australian citizen I am letting my Australian nature prevail in this matter. HM had her chance to intervene and chose not to. I suggest that all British veterans should let commonsense prevail and wear their PJM on appropriate occasions and at the same time inform HM why they are wearing the medal received from the Malaysian Government.
